Tacho & Speed Signal Adapters for JRP Multi Gauge Systems
In this section, you'll find a selection of tacho (RPM) and speed signal adapters designed to help integrate older or more complex vehicle setups with your JRP Multi Gauge system.
Some vehicles especially older diesels, carburetted petrol engines, or those without an ECU can make it tricky to source clean tachometer or speed signals. But don't worry JRP has you covered.
What These Adapters Do
If your vehicle lacks a standard signal output from the ECU, these adapters can:
- Generate a tacho signal from sources like ignition coils, alternators, or injector pumps
- Provide a speed signal via GPS-based modules, ideal for vehicles with mechanical speedos or no output at all
These devices make it possible to display RPM and Speed data reliably on your 14in1 gauge, even on vehicles that were never designed to output digital signals in the first place.
Why Tacho Can Be Tricky
You might think sourcing a tacho signal would be simple but in reality, it's one of the more technical support topics we handle at JRP. That’s because:
- Some engines don’t provide usable signals
- Others require conversion or amplification
- Tach signal type can vary by engine type (e.g., diesel vs. petrol)
