The JRP Edge Dual 52mm digital EGT + Boost gauge kit is the first in the line of our combo 2in1 gauge solutions, it’s become more popular with limited space in vehicles to have gauges support more than one readout on a single gauge to save space. We plan to continue designing & manufacturing more 2in1 gauge offerings that make sense, like Water Temp + Trans Temp for example, so keep an eye on our website going forward for more releases in the JRP Edge Dual 52mm range of gauges.
The Edge Dual 52mm Boost + EGT gauge kit is an amazing little package at an amazing price, and the perfect solution for our ever growing turbo diesel 4x4 customer base. This is a 2in1 combo gauge which offers both Boost & EGT readouts on a single gauge, with boost being in the centre as a numeric readout with a maximum boost level of a whopping 99 PSI, and then you have the EGT reading as a scale type readout which displays from 100c to 1000c. It is also possible to switch the gauges to display just EGT so you have both a numeric & scale type readout for EGT, just set a boost warning and you can watch your EGT in both scale & numeric readouts and the gauge will alert you if boost exceeds your set warning level.
When designing these combo gauges, we decided to have boost be in the centre as a numeric readout for a couple of reasons, the main one was it enabled us to create a gauge that supported displaying much higher boost levels of up to 99psi easily, and thanks to our high quality filtered 7-Bar map sensors we could achieve this. There are some crazy turbo diesel builds out there that run a lot more boost than 30 PSI which is what most aftermarket gauges stop at, so with these 2in1 boost & egt gauges we covered all bases so that even customers with turbo diesels running extremely high boost levels would be able to use these gauges as their combo solution for boost & egt.

SUPERIOR EGT SENSORS
One of the sensors that takes the most punishment out of any sensor used in aftermarket gauge kits and are prone to failure when using cheaper designs in the manufacturing process are EGT sensors. We spent a great deal of time and real world testing with EGT sensors to make sure we were providing the best quality sensors possible without asking you to take out a mortgage to purchase these dual digital EGT + Boost gauges. This commitment to quality and reliability led us to produce these high quality insulated K-Type thermocouples, they are made from 3030 stainless steel, can withstand constant operating temperatures of over 1000c for prolonged periods, and burst temps of up to 1200c.
Another important factor which makes these new EGT sensors a cut above the rest is the majority of EGT sensors supplied with EGT gauges are using single core wires, these sensors are using multi core. Now you may ask why is that better, well what we have discovered here after a years of playing around with various EGT sensors is this, heat is not the main killer of EGT sensors, vibration is. Having multi core wires in these sensors allows them to better cope with the harmonics and vibration of daily use, leading to less failures overall. Then we have the high quality water resistant connectors, braided cables with heat shielding, these sensors really are built to take a punishment.
HIGH QUALITY SENSORS
Above we covered why the EGT sensors supplied with these 2in1 gauges are a cut above the rest, now for the boost sensors. The Edge dual 52mm boost + EGT gauges come with a 7-bar 3-wire map sensor which is also filtered, they are a terrific little sensor which you can rely on for being fast responding, accurate and reliable. They send their signal back to the gauges using a 0-5v signal. Monitoring your turbo diesel boosts levels is important to keep an eye on, so making sure the sensor that you are relying on for this task needs to be something you can trust.
We have been in the gauge & wideband business now since 2016 and in that time, we have been devoted to offering accurate and reliable gauge products for the performance car market, and the diesel on-road and off-road customer base. We here at JRP know that customers when buying a gauge are looking not only for a product that looks nice, but they need to be able to rely on the sensors being accurate & reliable. Our mission has always been to supply amazing looking products, but with a strong focus on function and quality sensors without asking customers to pay a fortune. The Edge range of gauges is no different, you can rely on them being tough & accurate with peace of mind you will not be having to replace sensors or the gauges due to poor quality, buy once buy right.
AMAZING LCD DISPLAYS
The crown jewel of the Edge Dual 52mm digital boost & EGT gauge is their amazing VA type LCD panels that were developed just for these gauges. As soon as you see them light up you will know right away these are not your typical LCD gauge, they have an amazing clarity & brightness to them.
The LCD panels used in the JRP Edge range of gauges took over a year in development process, they are a high end VA type panel which allows for superior viewing angles and brightness, the first thing you will notice about the JRP Edge gauges is how they can be viewed quite clearly on both on & off angle viewing, one of the shortfalls of LCD is as you view them off angle their brightness and clarity reduce, the JRP Edge have some of the best off angle viewing of any LCD gauge on the market today.
They have a brightness of 600nit which is also terrific, daytime viewing on some LCD gauges can be a little poor due to lack of brightness, this is not the case with the Edge range of gauges, and they are clear and easy to read in almost any condition. Also having such many selectable display colours means it will be much easier to match factory instrument clusters for those customers who want to maintain a consistent look in their cabin.
High End Build Quality
The Edge range of gauges have a robust design, the body of the gauges are a tough light weight alloy finished in a polished black look which gives them a nice contemporary look which will suit almost any application. These gauges also use a thick single piece scratch proof tempered glass panel in front of the LCD screen which slightly protrudes from the gauge itself for an awesome look that just screams quality. There is nothing worse than gauges that just look cheap, and the last thing the Edge range does is look cheap, they have a modern look which is also supported by quality housing and glass which just gives them that overall feel and look of quality.
SINGLE POWER INSTALL
All our Edge Dual 52mm boost + EGT gauges have the Power Link feature and cable included, this is a simple way to provide power to more than one gauge with just a single link cable running from the primary gauge to any additional gauges. This is to save having to run multiple power looms for each gauge you have installed and reduced the soldering / crimping of power looms down to just the primary gauge itself. For any additional gauges you want to install, it is just a case of running a power link cable from one gauge to the next. It is a simple concept, but makes installing 3 or 4 gauges a much quicker and neater process having the feature be on the gauges.
While the gauges themselves have a single button on the gauge body itself which is used for making changes to the gauge’s settings, such as colour selection, warning values, viewing or clearing peak values, each Edge Dual 52mm EGT & boost gauge comes with an external cabled button controller which can be installed somewhere tucked away in the cabin for making changes to the gauges settings after installation without having to remove the gauge from its housing to make the changes. Just simply connect our little button controller to the gauge and install somewhere easy to access, be it hidden away, or you can install it into your dash for the race look. Updating the gauges warning settings, changing colours, viewing or resetting peak values will no longer be a hassle at all.
WARNINGS & PEAK VALUES
All the Edge Dual range of 52mm gauges have the ability to set warnings on the gauges, it’s an important part of any decent gauge solution for users to be able to configure their own warning values for the gauges, and the Edge Dual 52mm boost + EGT gauges have this covered. The gauges have a built in buzzer that will alert you if a warning has been triggered, and a nice little warning symbol on the gauges screen, if your turbo diesel ends up in an over boost condition or the exhaust gas temps get too high, the gauges will let you know. Another aspect some customers may find useful is peak value recording so that you can check what is the highest reading the gauges have seen under various driving conditions, again these little gauges have this feature as well.
