Like the barb version, it was developed to improve signal resolution for low-boost applications, taking full advantage of the 0–5 V output range to deliver smoother, more precise data than traditional 7-Bar sensors.
The 1/8 NPT thread allows the sensor to be screwed directly into a manifold or custom fitting — ideal for those wanting a cleaner install or who are running setups where high boost pressure can cause hoses to slip from barbs. While typically used in higher-boost diesel systems, many users prefer the NPT style for its durability and simplicity, even in moderate 30 PSI-and-under applications.
